Road Construction

Our roots are in road construction, so we have performed work for various municipalities including the City of Mascoutah, City of Fairview Heights, and the City of Belleville to name a few. The projects include one or more of the following: concrete paving, removal of pavement, concrete curb and gutters, sidewalks, storm sewers, and asphalt.

Infrastructure

In many of the projects that we have executed, infrastructure has been a critical portion to the overall project. We have experience with installing water mains, sewer mains, and storm sewers. Check out some of our projects to see the detail in which we have developed and installed these systems.

Earthworks

We've become one of the fastest growing earthworks contractors in the Southern Illinois region. We've moved in excess of 6 million cubic yards in recent years. In addition to moving dirt, there are a variety of support activities that are performed during the course of the projects like tree removal, ditch and pond construction, etc.

Residential/Commercial

Leveraging our expertise and knowledge in all areas allow us to develop subdivisions and commercial property. We offer a complete scope of services, including Project Management, Commercial Construction, Industrial Construction, Residential Construction, General Contracting, and Design/Build.

ABOUT

DMS Contracting Incorporated was formed in 2001 by Dan Stukenberg and his son, Matt Stukenberg. Dan had over 40 years of experience in the construction industry working both in the public and private sector. Prior to starting DMS, Dan worked at The Killian Corporation in Mascoutah, Illinois and Baxmeyer Construction in Waterloo, Illinois. During his tenure at The Killian Corporation, he helped to build the company into one of the premier contractors in Southern Illinois. Later, Dan become VP of the large earth moving company, Baxmeyer Construction. While there, Dan was involved in projects like the Gateway International Raceway, I-255 extension, and the capping of numerous area landfills. Over that time, Baxmeyer Construction grew from a $500,000 to a $16,000,000 company.

Since 2001, Dan and Matt grew DMS with an emphasis on safety and quality. Unfortunately, in 2008, Dan passed away leaving a legacy, work ethic, and traditions to be carried on by his son. Since then, Matt has assembled a management team capable of delivering projects with the same focused energy on safety and quality.
